The solemn foundation stone of B.R.M. College, Munger was laid by Hon’ble Sri Krishna Singh, the first Chief Minister of Bihar, on the 15th of July, 1958.
It was a stepping stone indeed for the upliftment of women in the Munger district region. Thanks to the noble souls Hon’ble Sri Devniti Singh and Sri Premniti Singh. We salute their initiative in making a prosperous future for the welfare of women, which blossomed with a blissful benediction and slowly but steadily emerged into a women’s college, called “Balmiki Rajniti Mahila College, Munger.”
It began from a dilapidated courtyard of Madhopur Girl’s High School with a meagre strength of just 08 (eight) students. Let us pay homage to the “Iron will” of the founders and the first secretary Hon’ble Sri Pratap Narayan Singh and a devoted founder principal Mrs. Krishna Kumari Sinha along with other social activists who played vital role in developing this college in the early fifties. They moved from door to door, begging alms to add brick by brick to its healthy existence.
B.R.M. College, Munger emerged as a nascent institution from the misty clouds of uncertain financial stringency and multitudes of problems. It crossed through several corridors of transition.
This college comprises at least forty percent of the down trodden and minority students, which is an index to fast developing social and academic panorama. Now, it is a well-established college with well- equipped science labs, library, common room, canteen, etc. The sprawling sports field is our pride possession which yields numerous athletes every year. The academic year 2012-13 registered a historic achievement, when B.R.M. College could add a golden chapter to its history of T.M. Bhagalpur University sports by fielding the first ever women’s football team which has honour to play the Inter university National woman’s football Tournament, held at Varanasi in 2012.
Our dedicated teachers are torch-bearers of wisdom, deciphering ingenuous talent of our students with utmost commitment. The solemn dreams of the founders perhaps, got translated into reality as every year we produce a plethora of promising doctors, engineers, teachers, technical experts, bank managers, etc.
